Root Canal Therapy
Following a thorough one on one consultation, which includes the use of both 2D and 3D imaging technology, we will develop a detailed and personally tailored treatment plan best suited for your endodontic therapy. In many cases root canal therapy can be completed in 1-2 appointments, depending on your oral health, current state of the infection and overall well-being.
- the use of a rubber dam will ensure an aseptic treatment field.
- a minimally invasive opening is created at the chewing surface of the tooth to allow Dr. Conn to remove the infected pulp tissue using delicate instruments specially designed for root canal therapy.
- once all the pulp tissue is removed, every canal is cleaned, disinfected and shaped. The canals are then filled with a root canal filling material called Gutta Percha. This ensures that the canals are completely sealed to prevent further infection or reinfection.
- a temporary filling is placed into the initial opening at the end of every appointment unless otherwise specified by your general dentist
